Moving and Disposal Services in Singapore
Move and declutter in one booking. Get matched with vendors who take the old sofa, mattress and wardrobe away on the same trip as the move.
Most people throw things out because they are moving. The old three-seater does not suit the new living room, the spare mattress has nowhere to go, and the wardrobe was built for a room you no longer have. Handled separately, that becomes two bookings, two lorries, two sets of manpower and two days off work. Handled together, the crew that is already in your flat with a trolley and a lorry takes the unwanted items down on the same trip. Your town council will collect up to three bulky items a month at no cost, which covers a light declutter but not a move-out clearance, and it will not dismantle anything. This is our strongest service because it is the one where combining genuinely saves money rather than merely bundling. It is also where vendor vetting matters most, because disposal has to end at a licensed facility, not in a back lane.
Included
What a quote covers
- A single booking and a single crew covering both the move and the disposal
- Removal of unwanted furniture, mattresses, appliances and general household clutter on the same trip as the move
- Dismantling of items that will not fit the lift or the staircase, including bed frames, wardrobes and dining tables
- Sorting on site so that anything you decide at the last minute to keep still goes on the lorry
- Transport of disposed items to a licensed disposal or recycling facility
- Sweeping and clearing of the emptied areas so the unit is left broom-clean
- Loading, transport and room-by-room placement of everything you are keeping
Not included
What it does not
- Renovation and construction debris, which is a separate licensed waste stream and needs a dedicated contractor
- Hacking or removal of built-in carpentry, kitchen cabinets, wardrobes fixed to the wall, or flooring
- Chemicals, paint, batteries, gas cylinders and other hazardous waste
- Aircon units, which need a licensed aircon contractor to dismantle before disposal
- Items already booked with the town council under the free bulky-item collection
- Guaranteed resale or donation value for items in good condition, which depends entirely on the item
- Deep cleaning of the vacated unit, which is a separate service
What it costs
How disposal and moving is priced
These are market rates that movers in Singapore charge, not our prices. You pay the vendor you choose. Knowing the range is how you tell a fair quote from a bad one.
S$150 – S$700
disposal component, added to the price of the move
| Job | Typical range | Basis and notes |
|---|---|---|
| Single bulky item | S$69 – S$150 | per item. Sofa, mattress, wardrobe or appliance. Subject to a minimum charge. Cheaper when added to a move already booked. |
| Half lorry load | S$150 – S$400 | per load. Roughly a partial declutter: a few pieces of furniture plus loose items. |
| Full lorry load | S$400 – S$700 | per load. Roughly a full move-out clearance of unwanted contents. |
| Dismantling of a fitted item | S$20 – S$80 | per item. Applies to built-in wardrobes, large bed frames and dining tables that must be broken down to leave the unit. |
| Stair carry surcharge | S$10 – S$80 | per floor per item, or a flat fee. Charged where an item cannot be taken in the lift. Vendors differ on whether this is per floor or a flat fee, so confirm which. |
Priced by lorry volume taken away, not by item count, once you are past a handful of pieces. Excludes GST. This range is the disposal element only; the move itself is priced separately under HDB, condo or landed moving. Combining the two typically costs less than booking a separate disposal trip because there is no second callout, no second lorry and no second crew.
All prices shown are in Singapore dollars and exclude GST. Whether GST is charged on your move depends on whether the matched vendor is GST-registered; this is stated on the quote you receive.
How long it takes
Add roughly 1 to 3 hours to the move itself for a partial declutter, and 3 to 5 hours for a full move-out clearance where items need dismantling.
How it runs
Start to finish
-
01
Photograph what is going and what is staying
Send the vendor photos of the pieces you want gone as well as the flat you are moving. Disposal is priced by the volume that leaves on the lorry, so a rough sense of half a load versus a full one is what turns an estimate into a quote.
-
02
Check what the town council will take first
Up to three bulky items per household per month, free, collected on weekday afternoons, provided each item fits the lift and one person can move it. Book that yourself for the easy pieces and pay only for what it will not take: dismantling, whole-flat clearance and anything past three items.
-
03
One booking, one crew, one trip
The move and the disposal are quoted together and run on the same day. You are paying for the extra volume and the extra time, not for a second callout, a second lorry and a second day off work.
-
04
Sort on the day
Most people change their mind once the new place is in front of them. Tell the vendor at booking that the volume may shift, because the difference between half a lorry and a full one affects both the price and how long the crew stays.
-
05
Licensed disposal, not a back lane
Disposed items go to a licensed disposal or recycling facility. Renovation debris is a separate licensed stream and cannot be mixed into a household load. Aircon units must be dismantled by a licensed contractor before they can be taken.
Questions
Disposal and Moving FAQs
Is it cheaper to combine disposal with the move?
Usually yes, and for a straightforward reason. A standalone disposal job pays for a callout, a lorry and a crew all over again. Combined, the lorry is already at your door and the crew is already carrying things down. You pay for the extra volume and the extra time, not for a second job.
What can the town council take for free?
Up to three bulky items per household per month, at no charge, collected on weekday afternoons. The item has to fit in your block's lift and be manageable for one person to move. The service will not dismantle built-in wardrobes or cabinets, will not take renovation debris, and will not clear a whole flat. It is genuinely useful for a light declutter and not a substitute for a move-out clearance.
Where do my disposed items actually go?
To a licensed disposal or recycling facility. This is one of the specific things we check when we vet a vendor, because illegal dumping is the customer's exposure as much as the contractor's. Items in resaleable condition are sometimes diverted to resale or donation, but no vendor should promise you a value for them in advance.
Can I decide on the day what to throw?
Within reason, yes, and most people do. It is easier to judge what fits once the new place is in front of you. Tell the vendor at booking that the disposal volume may change, because the difference between half a lorry and a full one affects both the price and how long the crew needs to stay.
Will you take renovation debris?
No. Construction and renovation waste is a separate licensed stream with different disposal facilities and different documentation, and mixing it into a household disposal load is not permitted. If your unit has both, you need a renovation debris contractor for that portion. The vendor can usually tell you which is which when they see photos.
What about the fridge, the washing machine and the aircon?
Fridges, washing machines, ovens and televisions can all go with a household disposal load. Aircon is different: the unit has to be dismantled by a licensed aircon contractor first, because of the refrigerant. Arrange that before the moving date so the dismantled unit is ready to be taken.
